Ibant Gleacame

“Forget your personal tragedy. We are all bitched from the start and you especially have to hurt like hell before you can write seriously. But when you get the damned hurt use it—don't cheat with it. Be as faithful to it as a scientist—but don't think anything is of any importance because it happens to you or anyone belonging to you.”ERNEST HEMINGWAY

Ibant stands with a proud posture and respectable physique suited to a knight in his relative prime. He boasts an objectively handsome visage, which tends to be painted over by a well-practiced look of unspoken condescension. Earnest company can easily wade past his chilly exterior to find a polite -- even soft -- individual shallowly buried beneath.A preference of well-fitted clothes shows off his trim silhouette, speaking to the man's unspoken pride in all of the labor poured into maintaining a clean appearance and athletic frame. Notably, he is never seen without a well-crafted ivory-capped cane, giving the man a very distinctive gait.

a deeper look

Ishgard. Ibant has lived his entire life in Ishgard, starting with humble beginnings in the Brume. Yet his mannerisms and accent to give an entirely different impression, suggesting the elezen might be of white-collar stock, at minimum. When asked about his childhood, he would claim that he enjoyed a very unremarkable and suburban one.Military. As a youth, Ibant became sought to improve his family's financial situation by enlisting to serve within the formidable Ishgardian military. During his years as a soldier, Ibant never lost his love for the finer things in life, spending what little money he didn't send home to purchase small luxuries like fine candy and warm socks. Maybe even a nice silk handkerchief...Faith. The Dragonsong War ended with many uncomfortable revelations for the people of Ishgard. Like so many others, the knight endured a crisis of faith, but he has since begun rebuilding his religious beliefs. While he remains wary of those who claim to preach the Fury's will, he maintains his faith in Halone and regularly attends church services.Service. Ibant's appreciation for nice things proved to be quite beneficial when it earned the notice of a dragoon, later revealed to be the Lady Lia de Amelune, an ambitious noble who enjoyed a rather unkind reputation among the upper class. Once he was discharged from military service following an injury that took his leg, he was approached by a representative of the Lady and offered a unique opportunity. At present, he serves the Amelune matriarch as her seneschal.
